Frequently asked questions
I’ve been drawing from a very young age. My earliest memories of me drawing was when I
was four years old. I can't say that I learnt to draw anywhere. Its a God given ability. But
getting better, as with anything, takes a whole lot of practice. I never went to any art classes
as a child. We didn’t have anything like that where I grew up, but I did study 2D Animation
at college so that was the first time I got any formal training.
WHY DO YOU PAINT WOMEN?
First of all, women are bomb! I'm inspired by different women everyday. Whether it's someone on t.v. or the women in my family. I truly am inspiredly by women in general, but I have always been fascinated by dark, golden skin and curly, afro hair. It is undeniably beautiful. I love celebrating the natural, raw beauty of black women in every shade.
HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR STYLE?
I honestly feel like my style took a while to develope. It definately wasn't easy finding it. I use to overthink alot and that kept me from enjoying the process of creating. Once I decided to just let go and allowed my hands and my imagination to take over instead of my head I really started to discover my natural style.
